Super Bowl

You'd think the Pats would have an advantage because of the revenge factor but the Giants' defense is impressive and Brady looked off against Baltimore. He'll have to do better against NY.

I pick the Pats 24-21.

They had the advantage last time they met in the Super Bowl and NY won fairly handily.

This should be a good game. I'm glad San Francisco didn't make it. Boneheaded special teams plays.

dude, I think your mixing up Super Bowls. The lead changed hands twice in the last 3 minutes of the game.

Okay, handily was the wrong term, but the Pats were predicted to run away with it. Something like the mauling San Farncisco gave Denver in 1990. That didn't happen and the Pats ultimately lost which not only cost them the championship but a perfect record. My point is that New England will again be favored but that means little in this matchup.

no argument...except the "fairly handily" part. That's what threw me off and made me wonder if you were mixing up Bowls. ;)

Brady's receivers let him down. That last drive before they punted back to the Giants, TWO dropped passes. I thought they should have gone for it. You can't give Manning one last chance...and on the last Pats drive...MORE dropped passes.

And a broadcasting footnote: Cracked me up to see NBC cover this game for countless hours beforehand, but dump out of it so quickly afterwards for a stupid unreality show. They punt 90% of their audience to NFL Network and ESPN - not even their new cable channel (NBC Sports Network) had post-game coverage which you'd think would have been a great way to promote it.

I wonder how many folks other than Giant fans actually stay tuned for the post game? I know everybody at my house bailed out and went home immediately. I tuned in to some prerecorded stuff on my DVR.

But to the game itself i was rooting for New England primarily because I like Tom Brady. I agree with Larkin that there were some very catch-able passes dropped at crunch time. One in particular was a high school catch. A couple others were a little tougher but very much what an NFL receiver is supposed to hang on to.

I watched long enough to see who the MVP would be. I figured Manning but thought possibly Manningham for that great catch. I don't think Welker can be blamed for that last drop, Brady placed the ball poorly. Had Gronowski came up with that pass, it would have been the highlight reel of all time.

Decent game that held the interest of fans. Poor halftime show. Outstanding commercial by Chrysler.
