Without an antenna to put flags on, how do they attract buyers?

i havent seen a coat hanger antenna or a broken telescopic antenna in ages. maybe the car companies have wised up.....or better yet, partnered with the auto glass companies and laminated the antenna in the glass. my old wagon had the antenna in the rear side glass, no reception problems.

Telescopic antenna? I haven't seen those since the 1980's. Too fragile.

Most antennas are fiberglass rod, a copper spiral with a plastic tube or resin dip overcoat.

I've had them come apart where the rod meets the threaded base.

The a**hole that came through our neighbourhood last night smashing windows out of vehicles and stealing whatever he could find. Cell phones, tools, mp3 players, gps, coins and anything else that was inside. At some vehicles he got nothing at all. Just left them with a smashed window. Fortunately he didn't get as far as my driveway. He triggered an alarm at the house two doors down from mine and took off. The neighbour got his image in the security camera, but he'll never be found.

Religious imbeciles knocking on our door. Three times a week for the past two weeks now. I am going to make a sign and then if they knock again, they will be answered with a very loud- WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?

We're done being nice.

6 times in 2 weeks is too much. We'll see what the sign does.

Morning Glory plants. My wife has them all over the place and they make the house look like a jungle. I just spent 2 hours cutting them off of the house and hauling them to the burn pile. I have declared all out war on Morning Glory plants!!!

Women.

My wife had a bad dream last night, involving a woman she doesn't like very well. Today she's angry at that woman for appearing in her dream.

The person who hacked into our bank account.

We have an account in a U.S. bank that we use only when we're in Florida. My wife and I each have a debit card attached to the account. The last time either of us made a transaction was last April. The account has been sitting idle since then.

Tonight we got a call from the Bank's security Department. Someone today, in Houston TX made almost $700 in purchases, using my wife's card number. I don't know how they could do it. They would not only have to know her card number, but also her PIN number.

SHELL OIL 12.66

WHATABURGER 32.50

BATH & BODY WORKS 188.97

VICTORIA'S SECRET STORES 290.93

JACK IN THE BOX 0727 17.27

CVSPHARMACY #7413 Q03 144.50

The Bank is going to replace the funds in our account, but it still makes a person feel pretty insecure.

Goodbye Dish Network.

You would have kept me, but you see, when I set up the order on Saturday, it was agreed upon that we would get 2 HD receivers, one with a DVR.

You show up with ONE receiver, and tell my wife that the HD is only on ONE TV and that the bedroom will be SD and when I call to complain, you finally agree to do it, but tell me that it costs ANOTHER 10 dollars per month for HD and MORE money for local stations, then its time to move on.

Its between Direct TV and Cable now.

Even with the free Blockbuster pass?

I thought Dish had the best prices. I agree completely that they should have delivered what they promised and made it right when you called plus something for your trouble but I think both cable and DirectTV cost a lot more.

Let us know how this shakes out.

I thought Dish was the best price too, but for the last several years, I've had just the most basic package, and we were watching stuff off the internet. We finally upgraded to HDTV and needed something to provide an HD signal. My Dish 500 was from 2000. It was really outdated, so we needed to make a change to get something more modern. It just didn't work out.

We ended up going with Time Warner. They made a nice package deal because we already had Road Runner internet through them, Road Runner, by the way is the ONLY thing we can get where we live, so thankfully its good service. We'll get a box with a free DVR for the living room and we can just run a cable to the bedroom and use its built in tuner so all is well there. For basically nothing, they threw in a landline phone too, which is really funny, because we haven't had a phone since 2003, so it'll be funny to have one again. The cool thing is, thanks to the internet, I can still watch Detroit TV news. All the stations stream their newscasts and I just plugged a laptop into the living room TV and away we go. This is good because we'll finally be able to find stuff for the kids to watch and not have to hope Veetle or something has something on for them. All is well with this finally. They are coming one week from today.

Since this is the random thought thread, here's one-does anyone play Angry Birds? My son can perfectly imitate the sound the birds make as they get launched. Its really funny!

We just got Dish and couldn't be happier. We originally were going to get Direct, but when the installer came out, he could get a line of sight...Dish beat the DirecTv prices and they were here the next day.

Now...to be perfectly honest...we could have gotten the worse service ever from Dish and we still would have been happy...since our provider before was Comcrap. When I called to cancel the cable, the lady asked why and who we were going with. I told her...and she went off. I got the 10 minute sales pitch about how we'll hate the service and we'll be back. The wife and I agreed...no matter where we live, if Comcast is the only option, then we won't be watching TV. I refuse to do any business with them again.

I've heard terrible things about comcast.

We ended up going with Time Warner and it's working well. For us it made the most sense since we already had roadrunner for the internet. They threw in a telephone too.
Also for Dish we would not have had the local stations I wanted. Time Warner actually gives us 3 different cities of network affiliates which is very cool.

I've had enough of the Whitney haters. Shut up already. Who cares if she was a drug addict? Why does that make her a bad person? It happens. People make bad decisions, we all make mistakes. No one is perfect and neither was she. There is nothing wrong with celebrating a great singer and a life.

And shut up with the Soldiers, and the first responders and the cops. That's really weak. Our country DOES respect our heroes. We respect them everyday. They sure don't need a bunch of idiots speaking for them on the internet, they speak very well for themselves thank you.
