Took this one today of a mother Robin tending her nest. It appears that she wove someone's discarded Christmas tinsel into her nest.

Hey, I know it's been cold lately. But you can't still have ice on your pool.

Took this when I was out for a walk today. I was planning just to take a picture of the tracks, but then the train came thundering along.

I'm not exactly a train nut, but they always impress me with their might. There are some really serious train enthusiasts and it seems that, among them, CN locomotive 2294 that I posted a couple of posts back, is a real star.

They follow it like railway Paparazzi, just to get pictures. Their photos are much more dramatic than mine.

True confession: I enjoy the nostalgia of empty or abandoned rails, right-of-ways, and deserted rail yards with standing cars. Also, Rails-to-trails is such a capital idea!

Last time I rode a passenger train was a trip to Niagara Falls from Windsor.

Whenever I'm stopped at a crossing, I'm tempted to abandon my car and hop on one of those slow-moving empty boxcars...just to see where I'll end up. (Yeah, I know, probably in the hoosegow.)

We have some rails near my house. We have a small rail yard in Holland too but I have never figured out how to get to it. I cannot find a road, the highway blocks one end, the river another and the lake another side.. I have to come at it from the east but I've never found out how yet.

I've always wanted to get a shot of the train coming straight at me. Thing is, I'm scared to crap of moving trains.

No one, and I mean NO ONE wins when a train meets anything.

You go to the rail yards, find a train that sitting there ready to go with the egines idling. Get in front and take the photo. It won,t show in the photo that it isn't moving
